Photo-shoot for Portfolio
Its been a while since I last blogged, I've been so busy getting my assignments and dissertation finished! I finish my degree in a week, which scares me a lot, it means I need to think about 'real life'. I am currently working on a portfolio where I am required brand myself as a person, it is all about bringing the last three years of my life together and making a plan of what I am going to do in the future. As this requires lots of photos myself and a friend decided to break up the constant library work and to go out and take some photos in outfits we put together which could be used in our portfolio's. I really like some of these shots so I thought I would share them all with you.

Cafe Coco
At the weekend a few of the girls and myself decided to take a break from revision and work, we went to our favorite cafe, the little shabby chic cafe Coco, in St Peters Walk, Northampton. It is the kind of place that is hard to pass without wanting to go in, with unique, eye-catching decor, it's definitely a place you can go to take a break and relax away from the busy lives we all lead!
They have a huge selection of fillings with the choice of Panini's; Baguettes; Sandwiches; Toasties; wraps and Jackets, along with a huge selection of cake and pastries. They also have a large selection of drinks with your teas, coffees, soft drinks to some of the best flavoured milkshakes I've ever tasted! Everything is served with a smile in cute crockery, and i've heard they may start serving breakfast?
We definitely recommend this gorgeous cafe to everyone in the area as you cannot go wrong with good food at a reasonable price! It is the perfect place to go for a relaxed coffee break and a bite to eat with your friends and family!

Why it's okay to be single on Valentines day!
So it's a week till valentines day, the day a lot of singles dread. But as a single I wanted to share my thoughts on valentines day, how you should do valentines, and why it is okay to celebrate being single! After all what really makes it different to any other day?
First of all I love a printed tee and these ones are just what you need for valentines day...
- You are the ruler of your own life, you are free to do what you want and go wherever you like
- All your attention is focused on yourself, you can focus on what makes you a better person and pamper yourself
- Which leads you to be able to treat yourself (you definitely cannot go wrong with your own gift!)
- Its fun to be solo, you can then focus on socialising
- It's better than being in a drowning relationship (im not saying every relationship is bad, just some are)
- You can flirt with whoever you like
- You can spend the day how you chose to
- 50 Shades of grey comes out!
- And finally, you've probably get best friends who are on the same boat to spend it with, so why would you need a man?!
This link pretty much sums up why its better to spend valentines with a best friend http://elitedaily.com/women/22-legitimate-reasons-valentine-need-bff/925584/

Affordable Lipstick- Topshop and Rimmel

I usually use Rimmel London for all of my make-up as I find it works well with my skin and is not too overly priced, they often have promotions on as well! I find the ones from the Kate Moss collection last for the majority of the day and always leave a nice finish, I also love the range of colours they have! A different lipstick can make an outfit look completely different!
When out shopping the other day I decided to give the Topshop make up range a go, The white chalk on black paper packaging definitely caught my eye, I chose to get the 'Naturist' colour for a natural look in the day time and the 'Role Model' colour for the evenings, to make your lips stand out more! After using both I would definitely recommend them for affordable lipsticks (especially the 'role model' one)! They were smooth and easy to apply; they had a nice texture; they gave the semi-matte finish look I was aiming for and the colour lasted all night! What more could you want?

Fancy Dress
![]() |

As I said in my first post, my posts could be about anything, I was so impressed with the fancy dress I saw this weekend where my housemates and myself joined our our flatmate to celebrate her 21st in style. The theme was, 'anything beginning with the first letter of your name!' You can imagine all the ideas that came up... I will not mention some of the suggestions, all you need to know is that I attended as an Angel!

The party included music, food, a photo-booth, a bar (obviously the most important part!) and a donation box, as Ellie is doing the most amazing and scary thing of shaving her hair off for the Little Princess Trust. It was an amazing night of fundraising, celebrating, and helium balloons (it's amazing how much fun you can have with them!)

If anyone is going to do fancy dress, this is how you should do it! Also if you wish to donate to support Ellie shaving off her hair here is the link to her page... https://www.shaveorstyle.org.uk/shavers/elizabeth-callear/

The Big Apple 🍎
So this time last year I was having the time of my life visiting Snowy New York City for the first time, I had never been so excited to visit anywhere else in my life before! I went out there with our course for two days visiting fashion business such as WGSN, Calvin Klein flagship store, Macy's, Anthropology and Custom Fabric Flowers by M&S Schmalberg, in order to see how these business work and are run.
We then had the rest of the week to explore the 'city that never sleeps', making the most of the shopping on fifth avenue, Grand Central Park, Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, Soho, 9/11 Memorial, Statue of Liberty, Hard Rock Cafe, Red Lobster and everything else New York has to offer!
It was to date one of the most amazing places I have ever been, and I would definitely recommend it to be a place everyone should visit before they die. It has something to offer for everyone not just the fashion conscious lot of us, along with a lively and exciting atmosphere.
Just make sure you visit it for yourself.

About Me
Hi,
I am a 20 year old, farmers daughter (not your typical one) from just outside Coventry. I am a third year fashion marketing student at the University of Northampton and enjoying these last few months I have left as a student (a very scary thought for me).
I have finally bitten the bullet and set up my own blog, its only taken me 3 years! I have a great love for fashion, socialising, travelling and showjumping, and would be your typical student: going out too much; living off ready meals; and buying too many clothes which I really cannot afford. Lets just say I am making the most out of my student years, along with getting a degree!
I would love to talk about all the 'big plans' I have with my life, but at the moment that would be to travel, my first stops being Singapore, Bali, Lombok, Thailand and Malaysia in June. I would love to visit Australia, live in London for a few years and own a dog!
I will be blogging about all sorts of things from fashion, everyday things that interest me to places I have visited and travelled to! I hope you all enjoy my blog!
